Welcoming Our Summer 2026 Interns: Maria and Sabrin

Maria Kakogiannou and Sabrin Yasin will contribute their talents in marketing, communications, and business operations to help advance Seleni’s mission of supporting the emotional and mental health of women and families.

We are thrilled to welcome our Summer 2026 Interns, Sabrin Yasin and Maria Kakogiannou, to the Seleni Institute!

Sabrin and Maria will support Seleni’s marketing and operations teams by cultivating strategic partnerships, raising awareness of maternal mental health through social media and communications, and contributing to a range of high-impact initiatives.

Maria Kakogiannou is a senior at The American College of Greece, where she studies International Business with a minor in Leadership and Management. Inspired by her mother's leadership and unconditional love for helping others, Maria developed a passion for helping women build opportunities for themselves. Over the past two and a half years, she has supported female entrepreneurs through a women-focused business coaching company in Greece and now is happy to begin a new chapter at Seleni, helping raise awareness of reproductive and maternal mental health and supporting women and families in accessing the care they deserve.

Sabrin Yasin is a rising senior at American University studying Business Administration with a specialization in Analytics. While observing patient care at Inova Schar Cancer Institute, she saw firsthand how much support systems, communication and access to resources can shape a person's healthcare experience. That perspective sparked her interest in the work happening behind the scenes to help individuals and families feel supported. At Seleni, Sabrin is excited to contribute to programs and the operational work needed to turn care into action and make mental health resources more accessible and impactful for women and families.

Both interns join us through the Libra Internship Program, a global initiative launched in 2011 by the Libra Group to provide transformative career experiences for young professionals around the world. Since its inception, the program has supported hundreds of interns from over 50 countries. The Summer 2026 cohort includes 24 interns from countries including Greece, Germany, Colombia, and beyond.

Through hands-on experiences across diverse fields such as innovation, corporate strategy, communications and marketing, and people operations, the Libra Internship Program is committed to nurturing future leaders and fostering professional growth.

We look forward to the valuable perspectives and energy Maria and Sabrin will bring to Seleni this summer.
