Since 2011, the Seleni Institute has been at the forefront of advancing maternal mental health and providing essential training to healthcare professionals.

Our Story

The Seleni Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by Nitzia and George Logothetis in 2011, is dedicated to transforming mental health and wellness by addressing the emotional challenges that impact individuals and families. We work to destigmatize mental health issues related to key life stages and experiences, including pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, infertility, third-party reproduction, miscarriage, stillbirth, parenting, child loss, and menopause.

Our Mission

To transform mental healthcare by addressing the unique needs of individuals through all stages of reproductive life.

OUR VISION

A world where emotional health is valued just as much as physical health.

Thank you for creating such an open and welcoming space to come to therapy each week. It means so much to be greeted at the door with a smile. I don’t have the words to express the gratitude that myself, my husband, and our baby have for the clinical care we receive at Seleni.

our name and logo

Our name, Seleni, honors and supports the courage it takes to seek help. Our logo, a classic labyrinth, evokes our individual journeys, the complexity of our brains’ design, and a reminder of the human at the heart of each experience.

We bring together two extraordinary women: Selene, goddess of the moon, long associated with women, emotions, and serenity; and Eleni, a mother who bravely fought for her children’s escape to America. We root our vision for our empathetic, comprehensive, evidence-based care in the deepest respect for bravery and emotion.
