Seleni's April Recipients for the Scholarship for Maternal Mental Health Professionals

April 2021 – New York, NY - Seleni is pleased to announce the April round of recipients for its Scholarship for Maternal Mental Health Professionals for 2021. We are once again humbled by the efforts of these individuals from around the world serving communities.

Comments from this month’s recipients:

“My training will be shared with my entire team of nurses; therefore, the hundred of clients we work with in the community will benefit from what I learn.”

“The current population that I serve consists of children and families in marginalized population. I will implement this training into my daily routine. This includes the identification, education, and treatment around these disorders. I will also work on treating the family as a whole to reduce childhood trauma and improve overall familial functioning.”

“I work in a community mental health center in a rural area. My clients have lower income and few resources. There are not many mental health facilities in the area, and I do not know of any professional in this area that specializes in treating perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. I believe this training would benefit the members of the community in providing psychoeducation and treatment. I believe this is a needed training for my community. I consistently work with women who are experiences difficulties in pregnancy and motherhood. It is my desire to instill hope and to provide successful treatment for them to fully enjoy their journey.”
